I've recorded several albums using the Neumann U87 for my vocals. For my voice this $300 microphone worked better for a time. Then I started to notice the graininess and sibilance. And it picks up the room noise in my project studio. Switched to the more expensive but quite worth it Avant cv12.

Works great, fits my mic snugly and firmly. No worries about it falling out. Last reviewer said it was worth the money over a generic shock mount and I believe that to be true 100%
